“That the generation to come might know God’s praiseworthy acts, that the children still to be born might arise and recount them to their children.” Psalm.78:6
For the past two years we have run our “Sowing in Summer” campaign where we call the church to give over and above their monthly financial giving into a special offering that is for us to use solely for missional Kingdom and Gospel advancement.
This year is no different and for the next few weeks (starting mid-November to mid-December) we are giving our church family the opportunity to invest in initiatives that will not directly benefit us as a local church but will rather all be given away to help establish and strengthen church-plants, social justice initiatives, as well as directly to the poor and needy in our local community. It’s a great opportunity for all of us to contribute and see the church be strong and reach more people with the good news of Jesus.
As you prepare for this offering, we’ve outlined three practical things you can do:
- PRAY
-Prayerfully consider the part you will play. It’s not about equal giving but rather about equal sacrifice. As we all play our part, the reach and impact we can have together is exponential.
- PLAN
-Decide what you are going to give in faith, and then plan for that generosity. Spend less on other things this month, make cut-backs in your budget and trust God with the bold decision you make.
- PARTNER
-As you give your offering, ask God to supernaturally multiply it’s impact beyond it’s natural amount. When we are faithful with the natural, God does the supernatural.
We’d love for you to stretch yourself in faith with us as we are convinced that we are called to be a people who sow seed today so that future generations will come to know Jesus because of it.
